ENVY is an interesting emotion. You will be considering the concept of “alienation” in this course, and you might consider ENVY as an “alienating”. experience. People often feel an unhappy desire to have something that someone else has and this emotion can be both active and passive in its force. Psychologists suggest that ENVY can even be a positive experience. So much so that this feeling can even encourage us to improve our lives. What do you think? Take some time and consider if there may be an example (or examples) of the positive force of envy. You might not find one. That is just fine. Choose the dark side if you wish. Try and form a point of view, though.
