–Your friend sends you the following Facebook Message:

“Why do you need to do a whole class on grammar teaching? Cant you just teach the rules, and have your students do drills to memorize them? That’s how I learned Spanish…”

Answer your friend in two or three paragraphs. Use chapter 1 of Nassaji and Fotos -2011- to focus on the importance of learning methods beyond drill-and-memorize. Be sure to summarize key points of the chapter, but make your post more evaluative in nature -i.e. argue for the strength of FonF methods over drill-and-memorize methods-.
