This paper should be 800-900 words and should include half of the paper as a Summary of the argument in which you state the thesis of the chapter and explain the main points that the author uses to support the view. The second half of the paper should be an Analysis in which you evaluate the argument by explaining the points you think are strong and the points made by the author that you think may be in need of further support. This second half should be critical, rigorous, and precise as you focus on specific points from the reading.
Notice that many of the Chapters in Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions explain positions that are then evaluated by other authors in this same book, and so as you Summarize and Analyze the Chapter, feel free to curate ideas and criticisms raised by these other authors in the book.
