Write a summary on the Development Of Greek Democracy.

Write a summary on the Development Of Greek Democracy.

Research Proposal and Research Paper (25%)
The paper should be a well-written 10-12 page long essay (12 pt. font, double-spaced,
2.5 cm margins, roughly 2000-2500 words).
The word limit is not carved in stone. It should be considered a guideline. The count
should not include references (i.e. footnotes) or bibliography
A list of suggested topics will be provided later in the term. Students are not required to
choose from these topics but should meet with the instructor well in advance of the
proposal date if they intend to do a topic of their own choosing.
Research should attempt to include predominantly print resources (although web-based
sources may be used if they are of good quality). It is acceptable under the
circumstances to use course readings. Ideally, theses should be supplemented with other
material. Any material not-your-own must be properly cited using footnotes and the
Chicago Manual of Style format for citations. The correct way to use this style can be
found at https://students.wlu.ca/programs/arts/history/style-guide.html
Failure to cite correctly may result in the loss of a full letter grade (so, for example an A
becomes a B). Deliberate failure to cite another persons ideas is considered academic
misconduct.
Students are required to provide me with an outline of their paper including:
oChoice of topic
othesis paragraph
oa detailed plan of the papers structure
oand a preliminary bibliography.

Spelling and grammar count. Papers must be written in proper, correct, structured
English.
Students may be penalized up to a
full letter grade (so, for example an A
becomes a B) just for poor writing (it
is also likely that the grade for
content will suffer as a result as well).
REMEMBER: spellchecking/grammar-
checking is never enough. Always
proof-read your paper (and try and
get someone else ideally someone
with more writing experience than
you and with a native-speaker’s grasp
of the language — to look over it as
well) before submitting it. You may
also want to speak to someone at
Writing Services if you feel
inexperienced
