For this paper I will discuss how Alfonso Cuarn presents female characters in his movies, especially in Y tu Mam tambin (2001) . Following that, explaining and analyzing the importance of national politics, class relations, and the economy on the way Cuaron presents female characters in this movie and his other movie Roma (2018). How male friendships cross traditional Latin American social boundaries and is it affected by the female character? Also discussing if his presentation is changing anything in the society and how the way he is presenting female characters can be problematic. (mainly focused on Y tu mama tambien)
