Animals raised with traditional agricultural methods may be injected with antibiotics and growth hormones and confined in small places with restricted movement. After that, they may be put into trucks without food and water before they are slaughtered for human consumption. Their natural life spans may be greatly shortened. In addition, the slaughtering process is not always as humane as the law dictates.
