What comes to mind when you hear the words advocate and advocacy? According to the textbook, what does it mean to be an advocate? Why is it important for early childhood leaders and staff to be advocates?
Review the local news media; i.e. newspaper, news channels and other local media formats, to find at least 1 early childhood or child related topic that is going on in the community where you live and/or work. Use at least 3 different resources to research this topic.
Present the answers to the questions along with the information from your research to a make believe board of directors for a an early childhood program. The purpose of your presentation will be to get the board of directors to allow you as the director to be an advocate the project in your community. A webinar style presentation at least 7 slides with information in the notes section of the slides.
