2006 Oaxaca Protests

Submit a 6-7-page paper (minimum of 2,000 words, Not including bibliography). As you discuss the social movement/community leader, be sure to show the ACADEMIC sources of your information.

This paper should include:
(a) an overview of the social movement/community leader including an explanation of the historic and political context in which they lived. What actions were taken by the community leader/social movement? How did they connect to other movements or leaders? Did they address multiple forms of oppression such as poverty, racism, sexism, among others? (approximately 2 pages),
(b) Discussion of the two ACADEMIC sources from the annotated bibliography, naming the titles and author of articles/books as you do so. You might include this in another section of the paper as appropriate (approximately 2 pages).
(c) What actions did the leaders/social movements take? What were the strengths and limitations of their actions? (approximately 1 page)
(d) discussion of how community leader/social movement connects to our class readings. Again, be sure to name the reading and authors as you discuss them. (approximately 2 pages)
(e) Bibliography in Chicago/Turabian style with all sources cited. (you can use MLA or APA style if you more familiar with one of those).
