1- Im from Kuwait.
2- I have a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition science from Kuwait University. I graduated with honors (GPA = 3.77) in 2019, December.
3- My interests in nutrition came from my history of anorexia, and malnutrition. Lack of education in the community and within the public health care system in Kuwait made my suffering last longer. Until I read about nutrition and sought professional help from a private clinical dietitian. Note: you can start with this information to make the introduction interesting.
4- My capstone project was “Assessing Nutrition Education and Practices
During Pregnancy in Kuwait”, and will be sent in publication soon.
5- I work now as a clinical dietitian at Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC).
6- Im applying at Oregon State University, for a Masters of Public Health, in Health Promotion and Health Behavior.
7- I aspire to take my PhD in the same field as well.

b- How earning this degree will help you achieve your professional goals?
– Earning this degree in public health will help me to design and implement regulations and policies that will help to promote public health, and therefore to develop the health care system in Kuwait. Also, to ensure health equity, especially within those with health disparities.
c- What youve learned from previous successes and/or challenges?
– Being the president of “Nutriviva Club” at Kuwait University, taught me presentation skills as I organized and presented many educational events, and leadership and interpersonal skills, and persuading, influencing, and negotiating skills to provide funds for the club.
– Working in Kuwait Cancer Control Center in Nutrition Department taught me the skill of teamwork, since we work in a multidisciplinary team. I have learned how to give patients nutrition educatiuon in the clinic and the ward.
***It is so important to mention that if I had an unconditional offer, I will have a full scholarship (health insurance and financial support included) from Kuwait University for my MPH and PhD degrees.
