The Research Project Assignment
ENGL 2130 requires one four-page research essay (four pages of text plus one Works Cited page) written in MLA style about a work of American literature. The rubric attached to the syllabus and below, should be studied carefully to ascertain the elements of the paper that are considered most important. Students may choose one topic from the list below or choose something that interests them; however, all topics must be approved. The Research Project must have at least four valid sources. Examples of valid sources are Galileo, books, journals, or web sites. The four dot com web sites that are valid (acceptable) are Grade Savers, CliffsNotes, SparkNotes, and Cummings Study Guide. Only one dot com web site per paper is acceptable. Papers with invalid web sources, such as Wikipedia, Wikispaces, Shmoop, and movies will have points deducted.
