Hello, this paper is about Cardiac resynchronization therapy which is is a treatment to help your heart beat with the right rhythm. It uses a pacemaker(implanted in your chest) to restore the normal timing pattern of the heartbeat. The CRT pacemaker coordinates how timing of the upper heart chambers (atria) and the lower heart chambers (ventricles)
Please see the assignment instructions below.
“Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) has proven to decrease the mortality and morbidity in patients diagnosed with heart failure. Many patients implanted with a CRT device will experience an improved quality of life. Unfortunately, not all patients implanted with a CRT device will respond to the therapy though. These patients are often referred to as “non-responders”.
– Are there specific reasons why a patient may not respond to CRT? Anything to do with the patient’s pre-implant clinical presentation or the implant technique?
– How do we know if patient hasn’t responded to CRT? Are there clinical markers? Patient symptoms?
– Can anything be done post-implant to improve the outcome of a patient that is demonstrating non-response to CRT?
Please write a paper (double-spaced, size 12 font, minimum 3 pages not including reference page) addressing the questions above. Cite your work using the AMA style of referencing.”
