Body 2 and body 3: Answer two of the following questions for the piece you have
deemed the most medieval:
Has the definition of a hero changed since Beowulf? How?
What importance does the Church have in this piece?
What is the importance of point of view for this piece?
Are the characters well-developed, or are they stereotypes? Why did the author make this choice?

Conclusion: Restate your thesis, briefly summarize the main points you made in the essay, then finish with a closing remark. Do not introduce new information in the conclusion.

Making comparisons between multiple works is permissible but not required, and comparison
should not be done instead of analysis. Outside sources are permitted, but not required. For
Chaucer, you may use the original text of The Canterbury Tales or a translation. If using a translation, include a Works Cited page.

Remember to:

Turn the essay digitally via Blackboard. Essays may not be turned in by e-mail.
Check the syllabus for due dates and late penalties.
Use MLA manuscript formatting. If you dont know what this is, look it up in the Bedford Handbook or another MLA style guide.
Include a word count as part of the heading. Do not confuse heading with header space.
Use a thesis, topic sentences, concluding sentences, and transitions.
Use integrated, cited quotes from the text to support the arguments in your body paragraphs (each body paragraph should include at least 1 quote).
If using sources apart from the textbook, include a Works Cited page.
Write in the 3rd person. Do not use 1st person (I) or 2nd person (you).
