The purpose of the literature review is to provide the opportunity for students to research a topic in public administration or policy that is of particular interest to them. In conducting the literature review, each student will write a narrative (similar to an essay or journal article) that identifies research on this topic; synthesizes their findings into a thorough and coherent account; and highlights any gaps in knowledge.
The literature review should have four basic sections: 1) introduction that explains the topic and its importance (see above); 2) main body that reviews the topic in greater detail usually by sub-topic or themes synthesizing information from the various sources; 3) conclusion that identifies questions and approaches for future investigation that will improve the discipline or even society; and 4) list of sources used in the literature review. Each paper should be about 10 pages in length 11-point font and double-spaced. It should have a minimum of 10 sources, including a minimum of five academic journal articles, and cite them and reference them using the American Psychological Association (APA) style. The 10 pages should not include or count a title page, if there is one, or the reference list. All students will submit their written paper by Tuesday, November 23rd at 6PM. I need this to be a good paper because I failed the mid-term. Thanks!
