Prepare case briefs for 2 cases that involve the use of one of the defenses listed in Chapter 8 of the Texas Penal Code

Using the previous instructions on breifing cases (see lessons section for directions if you have forgotten), prepare case briefs using Nexis Uni.

Log into the library databases, go into Nexis Uni and find cases from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Prepare case briefs for 2 cases that involve the use of one of the defenses listed in Chapter 8 of the Texas Penal Code. The case briefs should be over two different cases that do not involve the same defense. For example, do not choose cases that both appeal the insanity defense; you may choose one insanity defense case and one case on duress defense – or any combination of defenses, just not two of the same.
