After learning the different types of disasters that have occurred throughout history, think about the types of disasters that have occurred in your hometowns and apply what you have learned into your home environment. In a 2 to 3 page paper, answer the following questions:

What hazards is your hometown exposed to? What could happen if these hazards are not addressed? If your community has experienced a disaster, what was the recovery process like? What worked or what was lacking?
Research a historical disaster and analyze the incident similar to our case studies utilizing one or more of the four phases of emergency management. Briefly describe the incident. What was lacking? What worked well? Do not use any of the case studies listed in the course syllabus.
