The student will prepare a Bible Class Lesson on the subject of The Biblical Basis for Family Life Ministry. The lesson’s purpose is to introduce the class to family life ministry and the Biblical and theological basis for the ministry in a church.
The student may draw upon passages from the Old or New Testament that provide an understanding of the importance of the family and a ministry to all families in the local church. The student may use materials from the course textbook as well as other sources to create a lesson that would last approximately forty five minutes.
The student will prepare a teaching outline covering the main points of the lesson along with supporting materials as sub points. The student will not submit a full manuscript of the entire text to be taught. The assignment calls for a full sentence outline. For a forty-five minute class period the outline should be approximately four to five pages in length as a sentence outline, single spaced in 12 point type with double spacing between the major points in the outline.
The lesson will be intended for individuals who are first gaining an understanding of the basics of family life ministry.
The students name and title of the lesson should be on the front page. Each page should be numbered. Sources should be cited at the back of the lesson, but not in the lesson unless they are going to reference them in their teaching.
Grading will include attention to content as well as a clean, neat, readable appearance written in a clear and professional style. Points will be deducted for errors in grammar, spelling, etc.
