– No more than 350 words

– Needs to stand out/be interesting. Application is very competitive
– Being a nurse is not what I do but it defines who I am. I work extremely hard while at work and treat my patients like my own family members. I often think, if my loved one was my patient, how would I want them to be treated. I consistently go above and beyond normal nursing duties to provide my patients with the best care possible. I push my patients to recovery and am always looking out for their best interest and advocating for them. Being a nurse anesthetist would change my life. For a long time, I’ve never thought of myself as smart or worthy of anything. Working at the bedside in nursing for the past 6 years, I am now confident to say that I am in the right field and this is my calling. Being a nurse and caring for others has satisfied many aspects of my life. I am able to selflessly care for others and give back to the community in which I live in.
– I want to pursue a career in anesthesia because I want to become the best in my field, to put it simply. In 2017, I shadowed a CRNA named Margaret in the operating room and was simply amazed by her knowledge and skill. I admire CRNA’s greatly and I believe now more than ever I’m ready to take my nursing career to the next level. I hold a deep respect for the nurse anesthesia career, as I know first hand that it demands excellence, vigilance, leadership, and compassion. I feel confident to take on this immensely challenging yet rewarding role in healthcare. I am at a point in my life where I feel ready to give my all to this program, as three years of full time school can be extremely exhausting mentally and physically. I am extremely self-motivated and have a great love for learning anything medical or nursing related.
