n this section of your project you will look at the implications of the sound system and the rhythm of the spoken language. You will create a document in proper MLA or APA essay format that may include tables and other visuals. It should be at least 4 pages in length (double-spaced) and include plenty of relevant detail. Think about how the individual sounds that make up a word, that mark meaning or that define the rhythm and intonation of the language come into play. Consider the interaction between the speaker of the language and the hearer of the message in the context of language use that you define. The exemplary project will demonstrate that you understand the basic concepts of phonology, can identify when and how to use IPA to illustrate and capture what language is doing, can explain the role of prosody in creating connection between the message and the communicative parties, and that you have appropriately balanced the importance of these concepts for your project. The exemplary project will similarly use a good balance of data from conversations and interviews (live-action research), from media sources, and from referencecozs.
