Write an art history paper exploring artist William Powell Frith’s painting “A Private View at the Royal Academy” and his portrayal of distinguished Victorians in the painting. The thesis is something along the lines of “Frith’s portrayal of distinguished Victorians is a reflection of society’s involvement with the Royal Academy.” Paintings to compare: Henry Jamyn Brooks’ “Private View of the Old Masters Exhibition” and William Powell Frith’s “The Railroad Station” or “Derby Day.” Please include at least 5 sources.
