In the Argumentation Essay, you will explore a speech and make interesting claims about the author’s overall point. Offer a rich perspective on those points and whether or not they would be convincing to potential readers. The goal is to think critically about the speech, take a position on it, and avoid summarizing it.. Important: You need at least 3 quotes to support your points in this essay (one in each body paragraph). Quotes should never exceed two (2) typed lines.

Paragraph 4: Address one or two potential counterarguments to your view of the speech. Quote at least one supporting detail that strengthens your point.
Paragraph 5: (Conclusion) In your conclusion, include a “thesis restatement,” and then state whether the speech is effective. Did the speaker effectively supports the position and purpose of the speech?
