Week 6 – Assignment: Critique Arguments Against Positive Psychology
Assignment
Now, take time to evaluate some of the criticisms leveled against positive psychology; and be sure to reflect on how the country of Bhutan has incorporated happiness into its Constitution. Although the strengths of this field have been discussed, it is important for you to also focus on potential weaknesses.
Assume you are attending a conference and roundtable where a researcher argues against positive psychology. Identify those possible points first. Next, use your reasoning and evidence to explain at least four points to take a stand for positive psychology that benefits all cultures. Identify specific examples from a variety of cultural backgrounds to illustrate your findings.
Length: 4-6 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of five scholarly resources
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards where appropriate.
