Complete your capstone paper on the operations management response to the COVID-19 pandemic by your chosen one or two (at most) companies.
For your capstone project paper, you will examine the impact of COVID-19 on one or more companies that are in the same market. You will also consider how the government actions of the host and/or home countries helped or thwarted disruption to the commercial operations of the company or companies you decide to examine. This is a factual, nonpolitical paper! It is simply a study of the interruption to operations caused by a pandemic. As you perform research for your paper, you should consider the actions of those same government(s) and company(ies) during prior pandemics. To narrow the demographic, use only pandemics defined as such by the World Health Organization (WHO).
What big (or small) idea can you add to what you know about the modern practice of operations management?
You are attempting to develop and advance an idea for future professional practice. You should approach this paper as though you are working toward publication in a business journal. Importantly, this is a research paper, so your ideas need to be grounded in literature published by other authors. This should not be a mere summary of what others have said–your paper should build on the foundation of published literature and come to a conclusion about operations management during a pandemic that is uniquely yours.
Criteria
· Your paper should be between 5,000–6,000 words. It should be typewritten in Times New Roman 12-point font and double-spaced. Use APA’s 7th Edition format for all citations. No cover page is needed but your paper should include an introduction, body, and conclusion.
· You should provide an abstract of your paper.
· The paper is to reference at least fifteen high quality sources, including journal articles, interviews, popular press articles, and any of the resources referenced in the course.
· Your paper should be composed as a research report. You are not required to access primary data, only to report on and summarize results found by other authors and sources. Your paper should include an introduction, literature review, discussion, analysis and evaluation of the topic, recommendations for future practice, and a summary.
