Introduction: The features and presentation of disease can be considered as (i) a breakdown in homeostatic processes, and (ii) the body’s adaptations to minimise the damage created but also an attempt to return to a state of homeostasis. To this end, the foundation of understanding of any disease is reliant on understanding the “healthy” physiology and anatomy of the organism.
Objective: The objective of this assignment is to apply your increasing knowledge and understanding of the structures and functioning of the healthy human body to explain the mechanisms of a disease.
In addition to this, you will investigate how widespread the disease is, whether there are particular people who are at risk of it, and how the disease is managed and/or treated and/or prevented. presentation should include: • The normal physiology/anatomy of the target organ.
• The contrast between the disease state and the healthy state.
• Information on which populations are at risk and the disease’s incidence in Australia.
• How the disease is currently treated and/or managed and/or prevented. Prepare a 5-7 minute long (max. 7 minutes) narrated presentation, which should include:
• An audio track created as though you were presenting your slide show to an audience of your fellow students (who may not know anything about the disease).
• A closing slide listing all of your references formatted using the APA referencing style. You should create your slide presentation using a program like Microsoft word.
