You are working on your final Argumentative Research paper and complete the following steps after attending the Library Research on-line class Selected a controversial (one that has 2 valid sides) social, NOT a personal topic Selected a side (for OR against) for that topic. Start with a Research question. Start with Should or should not…. Write a preliminary thesis statement, using the word SHOULD (arguing for the topic) OR SHOULD NOT (if arguing against the topic). Email it to me for approval. Some suggested controversial social issue research topics are: * Retraining Police (not defunding them!) * Cell phone bans for students in Schools * More funding for Stem Cell Research * Banning Assault Rifles for Civilians * Stricter Gun Laws * Distribution of Free Condoms in High Schools with the Teachng of Comprehensive Sex Education * Against Fracking Research 5-8 articles on your narrowed research topic . Read, download and print, if needed Also submit your position paper with at least 10 bullet points supporting your side and 10 for the opposition side.
