The obvious implication that arises during a trial is that, if the accused does not testify, he/she must be guilty. How is this overcome in the law and what safeguards are in place during a trial to provide an accused with the presumption of innocence?
Your typed written response should be double spaced in a 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial) and attached as a word document. There is a one-page minimum length for this written response. Your written response should be clear and concise and contain proper grammar and punctuation. Your work must also contain MLA formatted in-text citations and include a separate Works Cited page. Note: The Works Cited portion will not suffice as content to reach the one page minimum length for this assignment. This Written Response is worth 40 possible points and will be graded according to the Written Responses Rubric available within the Content section of this course.
