Despite the global awareness of the baby boomers and our anticipated aged society, older adults have been viewed as a forgotten area of practice, largely because society is unaware of the complex challenges they face. Completing this assignment will broaden your understanding of older adults by not only researching a particular issue but will strengthen your understanding of the integral role social workers have with this population.
Completing this assessment will help you achieve the following learning outcomes:
-Identify and understand a specific issue or challenge faced by older adults, informal caregivers and/or the broader social and healthcare system
-Critically examine and evaluate the challenges faced by older adults
Identify and explore implications for social work practice as it relates to the chosen topic
-Find and use suitable and relevant research and scholarly evidence to support the issues discussed in the research paper
