Research proposal based on the specific business management issue which have the
potential to be considered as research worthy.
The research project will be graded according to the following criteria:
1. Introduction, specification, and definition of the research project
Title: Please ensure that the title is focused, summative, and reflects the research proposal
content
Research aim: is the aim relevant for the proposed research? Is it specific and can provide
the relevant research outcome?
Research objectives: are they focused? Do they support the main research question/aim?
2. Literature review
Search for relevant literature. Awareness of contribution of other researchers and relevant
concepts. Assessed:
Identify relevant academic literature
Review key academic theories / frameworks related to the research area
Demonstrate awareness of contemporary/ current debates/ trends in literature

3. Methodology
Choice and use of research methods appropriate to the research question and objectives.
Justification provided, including secondary data supporting choice of methods. Assessed:
Research design
Research methods
Data collection
Ethical issues (if applicable)
4. Data collection and analysis
Suggest and develop suitable data collection tool.
Identify the key inferential techniques that would be used to support your analysis?
5. Project Plan
You need to include a detailed timescale of your research. You may insert a Gantt chart, a
table or embed an Excel file where you state the different stages of your research. Assessed:
Evidence of appropriate milestones on Gantt chart or other planning tool
Feasibility and relevance of the project plan
6. Presentation
Organisation and layout of material. Vocabulary, grammar, report structure and academic
referencing. Use of theoretical terminology. The proposal should be cohesive and well-structured, follow Harvard referencing style and demonstrate academic writing.
