Describe multicultural aspects of the instrument (e.g., generalizability to individuals from various cultures although the assessment may have been normcixed on a specific population)?

Please write a research paper that is 8-12 pages in length, with at least 7 peer-reviewed scholarly references) on assessment tools and/or procedures. This assignment will be worth a total of 40 points, broken down into a maximum of 25 points for content and 15 points for writing. The following outline provides a descriptive list of the expectations for each research paper component regarding content and structure.

Assessment Instrument Research Paper: In your 8-12 page research paper on an individual, couple, or group assessment instrument of your choice, you will provide a detailed analysis of the instrument characteristics including: reliability, validity, information about the sampling group upon which it was normed, and multicultural aspects of assessment. The paper must follow the APA guidelines (see Purdue Owl APA) and must be double spaced, size 12 Times New Roman Font. A minimum of 7 cited scholarly reference sources are required.

Include the following information in your research paper:

Norming and psychometric properties

Norming – how were the questions initially developed, what was the process the occurred
to reach the final product, what type of statistical procedures where used to create

sub-scales.

Psychometrics – report on reliability and validity (must include all relevant types, e.g., content validity, construct validity, test-retest reliability, split-half reliability that pertain to your chosen assessment) for total scores and any sub-scale scores.
Sample characteristics

Sample size – size of total sample, size of age- or grade-level samples, inclusion of
clinical population, source of sample, sampling method used for the instrument.

Demographic characteristics – age ranges, ethnicity of norming sample, socioeconomic
status, educational levels.

Purpose of instrument

Identify the developer’s stated purpose of the instrument.
Present your views as to whether the psychometrics and norming support the stated purpose.
Utility of the instrument

Describe how “user friendly” the instrument is.
Note particular strengths and weaknesses of the measure.
Describe the clinical utility (does the result help with intervention?).
Describe any caveats or cases when using the instrument would be contraindicated.
Describe multicultural aspects of the instrument (e.g., generalizability to individuals from various cultures although the assessment may have been normcixed on a specific population)?
