Article title- What is the title of your article? (It must be an American study)
Author/s name
Academic Journal name- What is the name of the academic journal where your article was published?
Year published (the article should have been published between the years 2005-2023, and page range (The article must be 10 pages or longer)
Section 2: Topic and Summary
What is your topic? Example: I am researching the effect of deportation on young children.
What were your search keywords? For example, if you typed in deportation and effects on children in the search engine, then those are your keywords.
Please provide 3 relevant quotes from the article; they should be quotes that you would use in a research paper to strengthen your argument. Also, quotes with statistics can be very effective.
Read the entire article, and, in your own words, write an 8-10 sentence summary. It is very important to me that you use your own words, it’s okay to be as straightforward as possible with your language.
Section 3: Methods
Were there participants in this research? If so, how large was the sample, and what were the characteristics of the sample (race, gender, age, education)?
Did the researcher conduct experiments, interviews, surveys, secondary-data analysis, etc.? Note:This is usually found in the methods section of an article.
What were the researchers hypothesis/hypotheses. Note: there can be more than one, especially in research that analyzes numbers.
In your own words, what were the results/findings/conclusion of the article? (2-4 sentences)
You will then organize and submit your information in a Word document, 12 point font, single-spaced, using the above format (make sure to include the section headers and the numbers, and please remove the questions).
