Health equality through action on the social detriments of indigenous health

As per the assessment details detailed under ‘assessment 2’ on the doccument provided: I am to complete a Draft Submission seeking approval of a policy initiative of my choice. Format to ne used is from the NHMRC’S Evidence Practice Policy Gap (SEE LIKNK ON DOCCUMENT).

My policy initiative title is: Health equality through action on the social detriments of indigenous health. The CURRENT problem it is responding to is the health GAP between the health of indigenous people and non-indigenous people. The paper will highlight that colonisation of indigenous ppl, past and PRESENT has a major role to play towards this issue and IN SOLVING IT. A community-controlled health service, that is rights based and governed by the people in which it aims to serve is, essential. The paper will draw on a range of articles and relevant research, however the document attached titled “closing the gap in a generation: Health equality through action on social detriments on health” will be drawn upon most throughout the paper.
