I. Professor Instructions: For Response Papers, write a 1-2 page (I will not read more than 2 pages), double-spaced paper that addresses the following:
1. What are the key concepts or terms in the readings? Make sure to consider all the readings assigned for this week. Also, make sure to pull out some key concepts in various paragraphs and remember to have some sort of introduction to them in the beginning. In other words, clearly outline the main concepts you identified before launching into more detail about them
2. How does this material fit in with other materials? How might the authors agree/disagree with one another? How might the author agree/disagree about the topics?
3. To what extent do these readings allow me to understand the topics/concepts?
4. What does not make sense to me? What are the strengths and weaknesses of these readings? How effective are the authors at achieving their purpose?
II. Professor Guidelines: Response papers are not a summary of the readings, they are a synthesis. They should reflect understanding, critical thinking, and connections among the various readings assigned for that week. They should be deep, and thoughtful but not vague. Try to connect the whole assigned readings in some way, demonstrating reflection on the theme of the week as a whole (please do not use outside materials but focus only on the assigned readings). Use APA Citations for the assigned readings. This means in-text citing and a references section with full APA citations for the readings.
