The line structure seems to clearly define chains of authority and delegates accountability to individuals as well as departments. According to McGonigal, & Snyder, A. (2021) matrix approaches have been implemented to complement the traditional reporting configuration, although hierarchal structures exist in many hospitals and health care entities.
