Consider the following questions/suggestions when writing your essay (the characters, metaphors, similarities between the essays, and differences between the essays.) E.g., The main characters made significant decisions that affected their lives:
A Jury of Her Peers subtly describes a transformation in the attitudes of Martha Hale and Mrs. Peters. What techniques does Glaspell use to show this transformation and emotionally impact the reader? Why is this important? Consider the plot, setting, and characters when reading the essay. Find two scholarly sources to back up your thesis (or even oppose it).
It must be MLA formatted (Left name block; double spaced; centered title; the header includes your last name and page number, etc.). Use Times New Roman 12ptfont with one-inch margins.The first line of each paragraph is indented 1/2 inch.

It must include a clear thesis statement in your introductory paragraph.
Use essay MLA formatting, including an introduction paragraph, body, and conclusion. Each point in your body must point back to and support your thesis statement.
Utilize two secondary literary, scholarly sources.Use JSTOR or PROJECT MUSE from the UC Library to research your articles. You can begin by looking up the name of the author and finding any evidence to back up your thesis.
It must contain two (2) direct quotes, summaries, or paraphrases from each essay. Use in-text citations.
It must contain at least (1) direct quote or paraphrase from each secondary source.
Quotations must be 2-3 lines at maximum.
Must properly cite the quotes within the text (author page).
Must cite the sources on the Works Cited page (left aligned, hanging indent, and double spaced).
You will be graded on your ability to properly format the essay, the organization of the essay, grammar and punctuation, and your ability to support your points with primary and secondary sources.
