Sociology presents unique opportunities for those with great intellectual curiosity about social life. Throughout this course you will submit a brief reaction paper (approximately 250 words) requiring you to reflect on ideas and issues related to the weeks topics.

Instructions

There are two parts to this weeks reaction paper.
First, visit the American Sociological Association website on professional sections.Links to an external site.

Sociology is an incredibly broad field and it is sweeping in its focus. Thus, it is probably not surprising that the American Sociological Association recognizes over 50 sections of specialization. These sections include those who share an interest in a specific area of study and offer a way for interested individuals to share the nature of their work and learn from each other. Review the list and identify two sections that most interest you. Briefly describe those two sections and explain why they interest you. (Approximately 125 words)

Second, visit the American Sociological Association website on Doing Sociology.Links to an external site.

Briefly summarize Dr. Christopher Dums description on how he does sociology. What surprises or impresses you the most about Dr Dums sociological work? Explain. (Approximately 125 words)

Expectations
Provide a thoughtful reaction of approximately 250 words total.
See the Reaction Paper Rubric attached to this assignment for scoring guidance.
