Find an adult friend, colleague, or fellow student who is willing to “chat” in person with you for at least 45 minutes (please note, this assignment is not to be completed over the phone). You should pay special attention to utilizing the helping skills learned in the book People Skills.
After finishing this “chat,” write a five-page essay in Word format which should be double-spaced in 12 point, Times New Roman font. This essay should critically examine the conversation and your use of skills from the reading. These pages should NOT be a recap of what the other person said! This is a chance to critically examine your own communication skills. In addition, you should interact with the textbooks stating how you employed (or should have employed) various skills in your chat session.
