Dear Madam/Sir,
My 17-year old son applied for a place at a reputable European Business School. After high school, he wants to study a Bachelor in Management.
The University accepted his application and invited him for an interview with the university admission officer. My son is preparing a “Possible Questions and Sample Answers” script for this forthcoming interview.
He is not a native English speaker and has no experience with this kind of interviews. This is why he wants to prepare himself with mock interviews at home. He created the draft Q&A. He is unsure, if the answers sound well and are convincing.
Your task
– Entire text shall be written in British English (UK)
– Please review the draft answers and help simplifying the answers in terms of vocabulary and content
– Some of the answers have written English style – can you transform them into an ORAL English style (spoken English rather than written English)
– The third part of the questions are possible competency-based questions researched in the internet – can you help to write and transform the sample answers? He needs sample answers from a high-school context and from the perspective of a high school student (not the workplace context)?
– The second part of the questions, the “current news” questions should be written in a more oral style (again) and it is important that the answers are short and easy to express for for a 17-year old and non-native high schooler
– Do you find the first part of the questions – motivational answers convincing? Can you make the answers more oral with short sentences?
– Has he forgotten any possible other questions and answer which could be posed by the Admissions officer?

Many thanks and best wishes
