Introduction:
As future administrators aspiring to manage healthcare organizations amid changing consumer behavior and shifting economic and regulatory headwinds, you must possess the necessary skills and understanding to effectively manage. This assignment assesses your understanding of the five principles of management and how you applied them in the real world.
Directions:
There are five essential principles of management. These include planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and leading. For this assignment, you will plan a presentation on these principles for a group of new managers in a health care setting. The presentation is planned for 3 weeks from today.
The presentation will be created and organized by you along with 4 other team members.
Create a project plan for how your team will collaborate in order to create a cohesive and successful presentation.
How often will you meet?
What roles should each member have?
How will you communicate throughout the planning?
What can you do to support team members that may be struggling and/or what will you do if you need assistance?
How will you create a cohesive presentation that all team members will participate in?
How will you prepare for the presentation?
In addition to the project plan, you will create your own portion of the presentation by focusing on one of the five essential principles of management. Conduct outside research on your chosen principle (consider using the Library databases). You will need to provide a real-world example in which you or another leader has successfully performed the function and the impact that function had. Be sure to demonstrate in your presentation the value each principle has in the real world.
Your project plan should be a Microsoft Word (minimum 350 words) document.
Your portion of the presentation must be a Microsoft PowerPoint.
Extensive speaker notes should be included and slides should be uncluttered.
The presentation should be a minimum of 2 and no more than 4 slides, not including cover and reference pages.
Your presentation should be highly organized, logical, and focused.
Your PowerPoint must be written in Standard English and demonstrate exceptional content, organization, style, and grammar, and mechanics.
Your PowerPoint should provide a clearly established and sustained viewpoint and purpose.
Your writing/speaker notes should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.
A separate slide at the end of your presentation should contain a list of references, in APA format. Use the assigned reading, the Library, and the internet for research.
Be sure to cite both in-text and reference list citations where appropriate and reference all sources. Your sources and content should follow proper APA citation style.
