Content: The content of your essay may include but not be limited to the following: the music itself (who performed, what has been performed, what can you tell me about the music that was programmed). Describe the stylistic characteristics be creative! Another hint for a successful essay: the word song is fine for writing about music in a pop or contemporary genre (with singing). In writing about music in the classical genre, instead of song use the word: piece. For instance: The first piece on the program was in a minor tonality. Another acceptable word is composition or musical selection. Your discussion of the music is the most important part of this paper do not pad your paper with unnecessary descriptions or composer-long-biography.
