Las Vegas, one of the most rapidly growing cities in the world
Agricultural expansion near Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
Mer de Glace valley glacier, on the northern slopes of Mont Blanc massif, French Alps
These are just good examples of a change in an environment over time.

This is a website that documents with remote sensing imagery different kinds of environmental change around the world:

Select an example of environmental change that interests you!
It can be of any scale, any magnitude, but the process must be clearly described
2. Use real data to describe that change
Imagery, graphs, charts, analysis, etc.
3. Must explain the underlying processes driving that change
Images:
Include a map where is your change? (Geography!)
Show change over time (before and after images)
Describe what is changing and explain the process behind the changes (why it has changed)
Citations:
Refer to all images/data in-text with in-text citations
Paraphrase information in-text, aka: NO quotes (this is in the syllabus!)
At least five references, with at least one journal article
Essay Structure
Abstract — summarize your entire paper
Background — history of your change
Imagery of some type — (e.g. satellite photos) and a proper discussion of those photos
Discussion/Conclusion — Answer the Questions we talked about!
Bibliography — You must have at least 5 sources to support your essay, 1 must be a scholarly article
