Instructions
Your friend confides in you that he/she has engaged in unprotected sex with several partners over the past six months and is worried about contracting HIV. However, he/she is reluctant to get tested. Explain how you would encourage someone like this to get tested.

Include the following in your answer:
a) Why testing for HIV is so important.
b) What tests are used to detect HIV
c) Difference between a false positive and a false negative result
d) What is a rapid test and what types of rapid tests are available
e) Pros and cons of new HIV testing kits that can be done at home (e.g., Oraquick)
f) Who should get tested
g) Should HIV testing should be mandatory for everyone
h) When should young people get tested
i) How can we do a better job encouraging more people to get tested
