How to do it
Evaluate published research problem statements, purpose statements, research questions, and chapter 3’s of published dissertations.
Below, weve provided the references to three published dissertations.
Your job is to choose one of the three and read the abstract, chapter 1, and chapter 3.
Provide a critique of the alignment of the authors topic, problem, purpose, research questions, theoretical framework, and research methodology and design.
In your critique, answer the following questions in narrative format.
As you describe the topic of the dissertation, how did the author situate that topic within current research literature?
How did the author connect the general topic to what we still need to know about this topic and what the significance of the problem is?
How did the author connect the purpose and research questions to the topic/problem?
What is the research methodology and the chosen design within that methodology?
How well do the methodology and design choices reflect the purpose and research questions?
What types of data were collected, and how do they fulfill the chosen design?
