A research proposal is a 200-300 word explanation of what you plan to focus on for your research. You want to incorporate a few things in your proposal.
Explain the text you will be focusing on for your primary source, and explain what you believe your thesis will be. Essentially, what will you be examining in your essay about the text.
Give a brief summary of how you believe the text supports your thesis statement. What about the text led you to this idea for your research essay? What specific parts of the text do you think you will be focusing on? Etc.
Explain any initial research you have done and what sorts of sources you have been able to find. How do those sources support your thesis statement? How will they help you discuss the text?
