Surviving Picasso

Picasso’s career spans most of the 20th century. He was born in 1881, witnessed the turn of the century, and passed away at 91 years of age in 1973. He witnessed, participated in, responded to, and influenced styles covered in Chapter 22 (and later, in Chapter 23). His style constantly evolved, and his output was prolific. It is estimated Picasso created more than 50,000 works of art during his lifetime.

After researching his long and prolific career, select and embed five stylistically-unique examples of Picasso’s artwork from different points in his career. Include title, date, style, and medium for each. In your own words, summarize their subject and content. What (or who) influenced them? Which of Picasso’s styles is your favorite? Why?
