Here is a link to a medieval play called everyman. It is an example of an allegorical drama or morality play. A key factor in this drama is the use of characters that represent ideas.

1. Imagine you are a costume designer and have been asked to come up with modern clothing that represents the ideas these characters are named after.
2. Choose 5 characters and find pictures of modern clothing you think would represent the character and the idea the character represents.
3. Copy and paste the pictures into a word file and turn in the word file as your assignment. You may use multiple pictures for a single character and the clothing may be worn by a model in the picture. Please use a new page for each separate character and label each page with the character’s name. Your final document should be 5 pages long.
4. Write a paragraph describing your approach to the design concept. I am looking for unified concepts where each costume relates in some way to the others. You could use a color scheme, a theme, a time period or an abstract idea.
5. Include a paragraph for each photo explaining why you chose the costucixme you did and how it fits into your design concept.
