Loss of cellular function
What is the overall function of the cell affected by your cancer? Is it able to complete this function in the cancerous state? How is a loss of function displayed as a side effect? (For a non-cancerous example, a red blood cells function is to carry oxygen to tissues, but a sickled red cell cannot carry oxygen so tissues become oxygen deprived.

Cell Specialization
Brief description of what is meant by cell specialization.
How does cancer affect cell specialization in general? How does your specific cancer affect cell specialization? For example, how immature or unspecialized are the cancer cells in your cancer?

DNA and Mutations
Briefly describe DNA structure. Emphasize importance of DNA base sequence to the proper production of proteins.
Define mutation in your own words. Explain how mutations may cause cancer. Identify which mutation has occurred in your cancer, if possible.

Cell Cycle and Checkpoints
