What is the Wilderness Debate? Which side of the debate do you fall on and why? What is the RWI, or Received Wilderness Idea? Do you think that the term wilderness refers to anything substantial and real, which is intrinsically good, and ought to be preserved? Or do you think wilderness is merely a social construction? Give an overview of the several interpretations of wilderness given by Nash. Which do you think is the most accurate? Why? Last, if wilderness areas have been altered by human activity, is it possible to restore them? Or are all attempts to restore nature merely fake nature, a continuation of more of the same the human attempt to dominate nature?
*****Make numerous references to Nashs book, Wilderness and the American Mind. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I NEED TO REIMBURSE WRITER FOR GETTING ACCESS TO THIS BOOK.
*****Also cite the articles by J. Baird Callicott, Andrew Light, E.O. Wilson, and Robert Elliot. ****
