As was discussed in the module, ethnographies are conducted as a means for observing people in every day life. These are done as a way to find out how individuals interact with each other, society, their culture, and the world around them. You will take your first stab at doing the same in this assignment.

When ethnographers are in the field, they usually do their best to make sure that their work in observation does not interfere with the regular progress of the individuals who they are observing. They do this by attempting to blend into the environment, and often use secretive methods for recording their information, also known as recording their field notes. For example, if I was interested in the behavior of customers at Starbucks I would probably go to a Starbucks perhaps bring a notebook and textbook so that when I am writing my fieldnotes customers would assume I am doing homework.

For this paper I would like you to spend anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour in an environment while you were writing information down about those who are around you. Remember that all research requires a question that needs to be answered, this is no different.

Your paper should include the following aspects as you attempt to contact your first observation as a researcher.

1. A research question that you would like answered.
2. Description of your setting, and how that setting serves the purpose for helping you answer your question. This includes how long you were there, specifically where are you position yourself, if you did anything to dress for the part to help yourself blend, etc. All these details and more are necessary to give a full description of your research process.
3. How you plan to enter the environment without disruption.
4. Your message for taking field notes.
5. What did you observe? Who are there? Make sure that you were including descriptive details so the reader could feel like they are in the environment just by reading your notes.
6. What was the answer to your question if you were able to answer it in the timeframe in which you were there. Make sure your paper is written in full APA format. You will not be required to stay away from first person writing in this paper because it is required to give the information of your experiences.

I have to preference on the research question that is chosen.
