The Wasatch Front is in Utah. The goal of my paper is to convince my audience (Those who live in The Wasatch Front) that Rapid Urbanization is a threat to our community and it needs to be addressed before it starts damaging our community.

The Wasatch Front is in Utah. The goal of my paper is to convince my audience (Those who live in The Wasatch Front) that Rapid Urbanization is a threat to our community and it needs to be addressed before it starts damaging our community.

There are two points that have a stronger local connection that could be used and are negative consequences of rapid urbanization. Utah’s housing market inflation and farmers being pressured into selling their land. A quick rundown on both: Utah’s housing market is the most expensive it has ever been because of how many people are immigrating into Utah for its booming economy. There is a massive amount of farmland being sold by farmers right now because farmers cannot keep up with the new tax rate on their farmland, which reduces resource generation which is vital for communities. (The land is taxed according to it’s ‘highest and best use’, in essence it is taxed as commercial property). These two points don’t have to be used but I thought they could be a starting point if you
