Often advocates and community workers must argue their position or the position of the community population that they represent with power elites and policy-makers in attempt to gain buy-in and promote change.
Identify a social, economic, justice, health, environmental, or education policy that is impacting a marginalized population of the identified community of your choice. E.g. There exist a need to create economic opportunities for African American males between 14 and 19y/o residing in New Orleans in effort to reduce juvenile crime among this population. Then present your argument using real statistical data, charts/graphs, and actual news and individual reports to support your position; and discuss what will happen to the community and the target population if the condition is not addressed, provide (argue for) one (1) to three (3) possible action steps, in attempt to persuade the audience to act on the request to address the community need.
This should be similar to a Brief but may be a bit longer and explanatory. The document should be 3 4 pgs maximum. 11 or 12 font with 1.25 or 1.5 line spacing max. 100pt assignment
