Due to fact that “typical American” family was white, it push white, it pushed people of color to pursue the same lifestyle as portrayed on television

This essay will focus on an aspect of the media (we will generate topics in class). As a group, you will decide what type of media (TV, movies, internet, news, etc.) you will discuss in your essay. This essay will require you to narrow your focus to a specific topic (i.e. women and advertisements; TV shows representation of family; books and young readers; movies and stereotypes; reality TV. vs. reality, etc. ). Once you decide what area of the media you will write about, you will need to come up with a thesis (what you are saying, and why you are saying it). Then, you will need to support your thesis with examples (maybe you can add images!) and critical analysis (that thing you do when you are trying to understand the significance of something).
